1. Lecture at Pratt Institute
Thursday October 4th, 6pm
HSC Executive Director, Anne Frederick, will be giving a lecture entitled: "Community Engagement: A Participatory Design/Build Model," at Pratt Institute's School of Architecture as part of the Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment's Lecture Series.
The lecture will be held in the Higgins Hall auditorium at Pratt's Clinton Hill Brooklyn campus and is free and open to the public. Take the G train to the Clinton-Washington station. Exit at the Washington Ave. end and walk one block east to St. James Place. Higgins Hall is the large brick building on the southeast corner, 61 St. James Place.

2. Open House New York
Sat-Sun October 6th & 7th, 10 am-5pm
HSC and Leroy Street Studio are opening our doors and invite you to join us for Open House New York weekend. Visit our workshop and learn about our projects, then take a self guided tour of our sites in Chinatown and the Lower East Side. HSC and Leroy Street Studio are located at 113 Hester Street, between Forsyth and Eldridge Streets.

3. It's My Park Day
Saturday October 20th, 11am-2pm
Volunteer with HSC and the Sara D. Roosevelt Park Coalition for It's My Park Day on October 20th. Its My Park Day is a fun opportunity to get your hands dirty and work with volunteers of all ages. We will be planting bulbs for the spring and repainting playground structures.
HSC is currently working with the SDR Park coalition on the participatory
redesign and reconstruction of the Hester Street Playground within the park.
SDR Park is located on the Lower East Side between Forsyth and Chrystie Streets. HSC Will be working in the Hester Street Playground which is on the block between Grand and Hester Streets.
